FINALLY a Dream Come True!!!!!!

It's a doghouse for a giant St. Bernard and her 3 pups. Guess who gets to take care of them? You got it!  Me!!!!

This is where mom and I disagree. She is sure that it’s too much responsibility, and that she’ll end up out there “Picking up dog poop!”  (She didn’t say poop, but I probably shouldn’t tell you what she said.)

The main character is an 11-year-old girl named Gene, who just moved to a new town. Since Gene is new to town she has no friends yet. While she is in school she has to write a journal about her life for 100 days. Gene hates writing! How will she ever survive?

I read this book because I thought it would be interesting to read a book about a girl writing a journal. I liked Dear Toni a lot because it was really funny and there was always something of interest happening. Also the pictures/doodles were humorous.  I think this book is suitable for ages 8-12.

Dear Toni is Cyndi Sand-Eveland’s first book. She has worked as a teaching assistant with elementary students, as a storyteller, as a children’s library assistant, as a sign language interpreter, as a freelance storyteller and has done journal-writing workshops.

I would give Dear Toni a four and one-half star rating.
