Taking a deep breath I muttered, “God forgive me.” And pulled the trigger.

The main character in this story is a young farm boy named Sam Witchall, who gets conscripted into the navy by English soldiers. The problem is he has been accused of mutiny and is shipped off to some far away land.  But as luck would have it, he gets a second chance and takes a merchant ship back to England to fight in the epic war of Trafalgar.

I think that Battle Fleet is an excellent action war novel.  It should be read by ages 12 and up due to some graphic content.  Battle Fleet is the third novel in The Adventures of Sam Witchall series.  The other two titles are Powder Monkey and Prison Ship.

I think one reason for reading Battle Fleet is that as an historical fiction novel it is a great read.  Also it does not alter the events that happened except for some names. And lastly the author has incorporated fiction with non-fiction (Sam Witchall) and created a great adventure (series).

I give Battle Fleet 5 stars.
