The Gardens
Brandon, Age 13, Brooklyn, NY

The Gardens
So beautiful - no!
Remarkable by the gods themselves.
The grass, green as a military recruit, covered in flowers.
The flowers, tall as the trees
They are by.
The trees, huge and massive,
Carrying the leaves they preserve.
The leaves, ever watching as they
Hang from their tower.
The Gardens
The Gardens
Preserved by nature,
Never touched by the
Anarchy of mankind.
Never recognized by father time.
The air, so ancient that the river that
Flows through carries the memories of
Men, women and children.
A landmark, a free land!
A sanctuary.
