Or it could be an enormous elephant, turning the doorknob and opening the door ... Molly thought to herself.

Molly wakes up in the middle night after hearing a couple soft steps climbing up by her room. What could it be? Molly's thinking a hippopotamus, a giraffe or maybe, just maybe, it's a night monster.

Molly and the Night Monster is a cute picture book for the young at heart because of its creativity, such as the different thoughts on what it could be climbing up the stairs. Also this is a good book for kids just starting or learning to read, with its large print and detailed pictures. The well illustrated pictures and surprise ending will warm your heart, just like it did mine.  You could read it over and over again and it will still make you smile. Kids of all ages will love it, and you will, too.

I give Chris Wormell’s Molly and the Night Monster 4 and one-half stars. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy it.
