Fall
Elise, Age 9, Vancouver, BC

As I lie on this carpet of green I feel tranquil,
Looking at the insects as they dwell
in their emerald world,
Feeling the crisp, almost autumn air.

Seeing the crisp, crackling leaves,
In their autumn dress of red, green, gold,
and brown.

Hearing the birds chirping their songs,
And the crickets humming and buzzing,
I love fall.

The great trees with their views of the landscape,
Are watching children play in the park,
Feeling the cool fall air as they guard
years of history beneath their bark.
