Light in the Storm
Mia, Age 13, Tucson, AZ

There are some who continue to say
That the sun will begin to shine,
When all the clouds have moved away,
And not a moment before.

Because all they see is the rain in their faces,
That seems to blind them from all else.
As they stumble through the deep and dark places,
That are scattered all around.

But if these sad people raise up their eyes,
Looking through the clouds and rain,
They'll see a bright light where the sun still lies,
And though it may be dim; it shines.

So through the storms that quakes your life
If you look hard into its silent eyes,
God will still shine on through the strife,
That might seem to darken everything.
