Russian Language
Sarah, Age 15, Perm, Russia

                      Oh, the Russian language
How sweet the sound to my ears
The singsong melody of the dialect
Lifts my soul to the heavens,
Oh, what a language does to you

          Oh, the Russian language
The written form of it inspires people.
So beautiful with elegant curves and loops
You can drag out the words to eternity
Oh, what a language does to you.

          Oh, the Russian Language
          Poets, archeologist and language professors
          They worship this almighty language
          Like gods in the skies.
Oh, what a language does to you.

          Oh, the Russian Language
It is read in churches, monasteries, and temples.
This beloved language of the Russian people
Is a holy language that people around the world study day and night
Oh, what a language does to you.

          Oh, the Russian Language
It originated from the language of the Greek gods
A holy language to last for centuries
A language of the kings and queens of Russia
Oh, what a language does to you
          Oh, the Russian Language.
