Spring Shall Come Parading In!
Talia, Age 13, Beijing, China

Unfreeze yourself, frozen lake!
I want to feel water swooshing at my feet!
Fields, no longer be barren!
I want to walk through harvests and feel tickling wheat!

Trees should not be naked!
Birds should sing their tunes!
Flowers must reveal their beauty!
Butterflies should not hide in cocoons!

And after this snow is rid
And nothing is covered in this blanket of white
Leaves will engrave themselves upon my eyes
As I climb up trees during a spring night!

I welcome spring to come charging in!
With a marching band so close behind!
Do not wait for nature to summon!
How sick am I of winterís gloomy finds!
