Elisha, Age 15, Buffalo, NY

Oh bright, blue globe swimming through the dark
What keeps you safe in the midnight ocean?
Surrounded by twinkling, swirling creatures
Somehow, never disrupted is your motion

Many flares, sparks, and dangers all around
Yet somehow you and they never collide
You travel safe in the tumultuous waters
From predators you have no need to hide

Though immersed in a vast sea of change
This shining blue orb perseveres, never fails
Its fragile cargo safe in its mists
They can rest secure in its soft, green scales

Oh bright, blue globe swimming through the dark
How is it you manage to find still waters?
What guides you? Keeps the dangers at bay?
The shepherding hand: the greatest of potters.
