Nieve has always had an almost normal life. But strange things are happening in her town and in the city. Her parents' job as professional weepers has been busier than usual; people are disappearing, being replaced by new people who seem to bring a sinister darkness with them wherever they go. And the most mysterious thing of all is that the only people left Nieve can trust seem think that she is the only one who can fix this messÖ

Nieve was a thrilling story that twisted and turned down a dark plot, full of interesting and unique characters. This excellent story kept me up at night reading, not putting it down until I had finished. And I couldnít stop reading it in class (I almost got in trouble)! The story was quite dark, but it had a satisfying ending filled with light, except for one part when LiasÖ oh right, I canít tell you. Anyway, what I am trying to say is that I loved the book, but I am not at the edge of my seat waiting for the next one, which in a way disappointed me. Nieve was a very imaginative read that any devoted fantasy lover needs to read.

Terry Griggs is the author of the Catís Eye Corner trilogy, which includes Catís Eye Corner, The Silver Door, and Invisible Ink. Her mysterious new book is great for ages 11-14.

I give the new Terry Griggs novel, Nieve, four stars.
