The Shrike
Talia, Age 13, Beijing, China

Staring upon mankind
Is a face with sinister eyes
With only one thing on his mind
Like a demon he will rise
When it comes to the time of midnight
The stench of blood will fill the sky
He likes it dark with no glinting light
He likes the agony of a human's cry
When midnight beats he shall strike
The Shrike feels no sympathy for man
The bitterness of human blood, he likes
Souls of humans are swept away like sand
Bodies lie on the hard cold ground
They lie so motionless, dead
Bodies everywhere are piled up in mounds
Oh, such a drab future which lies ahead.
