The Girl from the Past
Talia and Jessica, Age 13, Beijing, China

Sunset brushed away her tears
Its vivid colors swept
She sat by the fading day
And there she stayed and wept.
I glimpsed her sorrow
While walking along the beach shore
I couldnít understand the reason why
She looked up from behind
Those blood red eyes
Her soggy dark curls
Looked never so beautiful
But her face so miserable
Makes my heart drop
Remembering the times from before
Laughing with glee
Her stunning smile
Now replaced with a painted scowl
I hope it isnít permanent
Oh, her look now makes me doubt
To think that I have loved this girl
How could I be so wrong?
