Peace of Mind
Jack, Age 12, Montz, LA

As I walk these peaceful paths through the wilderness
Trying to keep my shadowed past out of my head
All the sights, smells and feelings make it a blur
But in the deepest, darkest places of my mind and heart
I still feel the pain

The woods are my home
They keep me sheltered from insanity, always trying to take over
I need them just as the animals need nature
Surviving without them would be impossible
They are the master-lock of my life
Keeping me safe for the rest of my days
