One day,

He had no idea
what the thingamabob was
or where it came from.

A small elephant discovers a ‘thingamabob’ but does not know what it is. He spends a lot of time trying to figure out what it is and what it does.

Il Sung Na has written other picture books including Zzzzz: A Book Of Sleep and Brrrr: A Book of Winter. The illustrations in this book are hand-painted textures that have been digitally layered. This book is perfect for very young readers; it uses fairly large fonts and there are not too many words on the page to become discouraging. The illustrations are not too complex but still relate to the story very well. The Thingamabob is an amazing book and you can tell how much thought the author put into this story.

I give The Thingamabob four and one-half stars.
